While the Kings Head has many enthusiastic supporters, some visitors note that during peak times, the atmosphere can get a bit crowded and noisy. This might detract from the casual dining experience. Occasionally, bar service can be slower during busy periods, leading to longer wait times for food or drinks. A few diners have mentioned that some plates can be inconsistent in presentation. It's worth noting that the fixed hours can be limiting for late-night cravings, as the pub closes early in the evening compared to other venues in town. Some patrons have also suggested that increasing vegetarian options would help cater to a broader audience, appealing to those with dietary restrictions.
Popped in here today for lunch whilst doing a bit of shopping around Oswestry. They accommodated 10 of us no problem at all. There is a good choice on the menu and the prices are very reasonable. We can definitely recommend the lasagne and the steak and mushroom baguette. Everyone enjoyed their meal and we will definitely be returning.
